Event Cancellation Policy
In-person events may be canceled or moved to a virtual format if severe winter weather conditions occur. The safety of attendees and our team, are our top priories.
Definitions:
Daytime Events: Start before 5:00 PM
Evening Events: Start at or after 5:00 PM
Decision Timeline:
Daytime Events: Decisions made by 7:00 PM the night before the event
Evening Events: Decisions made by 9:00 AM the day of the event
Notification Process:
If changes occur, attendees will be notified by email at least 24 hours before your scheduled session whenever possible.
A virtual option will be provided whenever possible.
If conditions worsen unexpectedly, updates will be sent as soon as possible.
Criteria for Weather-Related Changes: Events will be canceled or shifted to virtual if:
A Winter Storm Warning, Blizzard Warning, or Ice Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service
Local authorities advise against travel due to hazardous conditions.
School districts or public transportation systems in the area announce closures due to weather.
NDC closes the office due to weather-related safety concerns.
Other conditions that make it unsafe for attendees or staff to travel to or from the event location.
Notification Process: Participants will be notified via:
Email as soon as possible
Updates posted on the program website and social media channels.
Virtual Backup Option
If an in-person lab is canceled, a virtual assistance session will be offered whenever possible.
Participants will receive a link to reschedule or join a virtual session within 24 hours.
